Job summary

Avis Budget Group is hiring a Diesel Mechanic in Columbus, Ohio. You will perform routine maintenance and repairs on box trucks and cargo vans with minimal supervision, and assist senior mechanics with complex tasks. Travel to breakdowns may be required, and a CDL and ASE certs are valued.

On-site work, competitive hourly pay, and opportunities for ASE certification growth are offered along with good benefits and employee discounts. Must be 21+ and legally eligible to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• For this role, a valid Driver's License (CDL) and at least 2 years of heavy/medium duty repair experience are needed.
• 1 ASE certification is required with potential to obtain 2 more within the first year.
• Experience with Engine, Drive Train, Brakes, Electrical, and HVAC areas is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance like oil changes, lubrication, and tire repairs.
• Conduct repairs on cargo vans and box trucks with minimal supervision.
• Assist senior mechanics on complex repairs as needed.
• Travel to breakdown locations to repair and return vehicles to service.
• Possibly drive a Budget Truck on public roads when required.
