Job summary

Wellstar Medical Group operates a New Mobile CT Unit in Augusta, GA, seeking a CT Technologist. The role focuses on delivering high-quality imaging and a supportive patient experience as part of a collaborative care team.

You will adhere to ALARA principles, manage documentation, and ensure patient safety throughout the examination process. The position is full-time with competitive hourly pay and opportunities for professional growth, contingent on experience and regulatory certifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program required.
• Minimum 1 year experience in Radiology required.
• ARRTR (Radiography) certification required.
• ARRT CT – ARRT Computed Tomography certification required.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines to capture quality diagnostic images.
• Operate imaging equipment independently while minimizing dose to patient (ALARA).
• Maintain rooms/equipment per infection control schedules and report issues promptly.
• Obtain clinical history, verify orders and two patient identifiers before exams.
• Explain procedures and prep to patients to reduce anxiety and ensure understanding.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety throughout visits.
• Perform exams and administer contrast per protocol using sterile techniques when applicable.
• Position patients and apply markers, shielding, and immobilization as indicated.
• Review images and ensure diagnostic acceptability; re-image if needed.
• Document accurately and finalize studies in RIS/PACS including transfers retrievals.
