Job summary

City of Virginia Beach is seeking a Part-Time Mobile Crisis Response Clinician II to join the Human Services team. The role provides rapid response, assessment, and early intervention during behavioral health crises for residents and visitors across multiple jurisdictions.

Qualified candidates must be registered QMHP/LMHP with crisis work experience. Duties include crisis response, documentation, intake assessments, CEPP development, and ongoing therapeutic interventions.

Qualifications

• Requires a four-year degree in a human services field (such as psychology, behavioral health, or social work) and three years of relevant experience.
• Must be registered with the Virginia Board of Counseling as a QMHP or LMHP.
• Experience with crisis work and risk assessment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to calls through Crisis Hub to provide community crisis services for adults in acute psychiatric crisis.
• Complete clinical documentation and ensure accurate filing and billing timelines.
• Provide face-to-face crisis response to individuals and families, and coordinate with collateral contacts.
• Conduct intake assessments, crisis-specific assessments, and update diagnoses as needed.
• Develop Crisis Education and Prevention Plans (CEPP) with clients and families.
• Provide ongoing assessments and therapeutic crisis interventions or referrals as needed.
• Serve in specialized populations or roles as required.
