Sycamores is partnering with the 988 mental health crisis hotline to provide support via the Mobile Crisis Outreach Team (MCOT). The MCOT Peer Support Specialist responds with the clinician to stabilize crises and connect clients with resources in the community.

The role emphasizes recovery, advocacy, and collaboration with law enforcement and hospitals. Starting pay is $70,304–$70,720 yearly for full-time employment.

Qualifications

• Must have lived experience with recovery from mental illness or substance use, or related system involvement.
• Willing to share lived experience in a professional capacity.
• Strong dedication to recovery and self-determination.
• Agree in writing to Code of Ethics.
• Valid California driver’s license and clean driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to crisis calls in conjunction with MCOT clinician.
• Provide crisis stabilization, safety planning, and follow-up support.
• Utilize Sycamores vehicles to co‑respond with another staff member.
• Advocate for client voice, choice, and access to community resources.
• Coordinate with police, hospitals, and ambulance providers as needed.
