Job summary

DESC is seeking a dedicated Certified Peer Support Specialist to join the Mobile Rapid Response Crisis Team in the Seattle area. You will respond to crisis calls, work in a two-person team, and connect individuals to recovery services.

The role emphasizes de-escalation, client dignity, and collaboration with community partners. The position requires CPSS credentials or trainee status with certification capability within 60 days, CACPS training, and a strong recovery-focused approach.

Qualifications

• CPSS credential required or trainee status with ability to gain certification within 60 days.
• Completion of CACPS training or equivalent before hire.
• Lived experience with mental health or substance use recovery is valued.

Responsibilities

• Respond to crisis calls as part of a two-person team in Seattle area.
• Engage in crisis intervention, stabilization, and linkage to services.
• Perform assessments and develop plans with clients for recovery goals.
• Maintain accurate data collection and documentation of interactions.
• Collaborate with Crisis Connections and other providers to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide peer recovery support and client-centered advocacy.
