Job summary

Downtown Emergency Services Center (DESC) is seeking staff for the Mobile Rapid Response Crisis Team to respond to adults in crisis in the Seattle area. You will work in pairs with Mental Health Professionals and Peer Counselors, coordinating care and preventing unnecessary ER visits.

Responsibilities include outreach, engagement, crisis intervention, and follow-up to ensure connections to services. Strong communication and de‑escalation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Must meet WA DOH registration requirements for AAC or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology or related field.
• Associate’s degree with two years of mental health experience accepted.
• Valid WA driver’s license and insurable driving record.
• Ability to pass WA state criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis outreach and intervention in response to referrals.
• Engage with clients to assess needs and connect to services.
• Work with Crisis Connections and other referents for linkage to care.
• Document data and complete required reporting, follow-up on connections.
