The City of Scottsdale seeks a Police Crisis Intervention Specialist to provide mobile crisis intervention, evaluation, information and referral services for the Scottsdale Police Department. The role requires a 40-hour week with rotating on-call to deliver 24-hour responses and collaboration with sworn and professional staff to meet department objectives.

Education includes a Master’s in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related field and at least three years of crisis intervention

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Three years of professional crisis intervention, counseling, or social work experience.
• Equivalent education/experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis.

Responsabilités

• Respond to police requests for psychological, sociological, and victim services in person and by phone.
• Perform intervention and assessment in areas such as domestic violence, sexual assault, and mental health emergencies.
• Work in stressful, emotional situations on a 24-hour basis and provide on-call service.
• Relocate victims of domestic violence or other life-altering situations.
• Refer and occasionally transport clients to local treatment or other locations.
