Job summary

The City of Scottsdale seeks a Police Crisis Intervention Specialist to provide mobile crisis intervention, evaluation/assessment, information and referral services for the Scottsdale Police Department. This full-time role includes a 40-hour work week with rotating on-call to provide 24-hour responses, collaborating with sworn and professional staff to support mission objectives.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or closely related field.
• Three years of professional experience in crisis intervention, counseling, or social work.
• Equivalent combination of education and job-related experience may substitute for educational requirements.

Responsibilities

• Responds to police officer requests for psychological, sociological, and victim services.
• Performs intervention and assessment in areas such as domestic violence, sexual assault, mental health emergencies, child maltreatment, and runaways.
• Works in a variety of stressful and emotional situations on a 24-hour basis.
• Relocates victims of domestic violence or other life-altering situations.
• Responds to private citizens, schools, and social service agencies requests for assistance.
• Refers and occasionally provides transportation to local treatment and other appropriate locations.
