Job summary

DCLI is seeking a Chassis Mechanic in Fontana, CA to perform mechanical repairs and inspections in a depot/repair facility, with work on chassis including brakes and wheel ends. The role requires welding, cutting with a torch, and completing repairs to FMCSA standards based on written estimates.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting chassis defects, repairing ABS and brake systems, and documenting work orders via a mobile app.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 2 years of experience in trailer/chassis mechanics.
• FMCSA and brake certifications required.
• Knowledge of welding MIG and ARC welding, torch use.
• Knowledge of AAR, IICL and DOT rules and criteria.
• Ability to work in a shop environment with some mobile repairs.
• Must read and interpret safety and maintenance documents.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving history.
• Pre-employment drug screening required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair all chassis defects.
• Repair ABS systems; air brake systems, wheels end, and structural assemblies.
• Some welding and fabrication of chassis.
• Use of mobile app to log work orders and document repairs.
• Use of a Mobile truck to drive to locations and complete repairs to DCLI chassis.
