Job summary

CSS is seeking a Chassis Mobile Mechanic to perform mechanical repairs and inspections in a depot/repair facility environment, with work in a shop setting and some mobile repairs.

You will troubleshoot, repair, and document chassis work, including brakes and wheel end components, in compliance with FMCSA standards. A valid CDL is required for mobile repairs and driving between locations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 2 years of experience in trailer/chassis mechanics.
• FMCSA and brake certifications required.
• Knowledge of welding MIG and ARC welding, torch use.
• Knowledge of AAR, IICL and DOT rules and criteria.
• Ability to work in a shop environment with possible mobile repairs.
• Must have valid driver’s license and pass pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair all chassis defects.
• Repair ABS and air brake systems, wheels end, and structural assemblies.
• Some welding and fabrication of chassis.
• Use of mobile app to log work orders and document repairs.
• Use of a mobile truck to drive to locations and complete repairs to DCLI chassis.
