Job summary

Direct ChassisLink Inc. (DCLI) seeks a Chassis Mobile Mechanic to perform mechanical repairs and inspections in a depot/repair facility setting. You will handle brakes, wheel ends, welding, cutting with a torch, and part replacement on chassis per FMCSA standards and written estimates.

Responsibilities include diagnosing chassis defects, servicing ABS and air brake systems, and performing mobile repairs when required. A valid driver’s license and ability to lift 50 lbs are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 2 years of experience in trailer/chassis mechanics, usage and repair methods.
• FMCSA and brake certifications required.
• Knowledge of welding MIG and ARC welding, torch use.
• Knowledge of AAR, IICL and DOT rules and criteria.
• Shop environment with possible mobile repairs.
• Able to work independently, efficiently and without supervision.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
• Must be willing to work all shifts including weekends if needed.
• Capable of lifting 50 lbs.
• Able to read and interpret safety rules and manuals.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and phone apps for work orders.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair all chassis defects.
• Repair ABS systems; air brake systems, wheels end, and structural assemblies.
• Some welding and fabrication of chassis.
• Use of mobile app to log work orders and document repairs.
• Use of a Mobile truck to drive to locations and complete repairs to DCLI chassis.
