Job summary

UG2 is seeking a highly motivated, hands-on Mobile Building Engineer / Facilities Technician to support a growing portfolio of commercial properties throughout the New York metropolitan area.

This role operates as a "technician in a truck" mobile facilities service, traveling between locations in a UG2-provided vehicle to perform inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and minor repairs. The position offers growth as the mobile engineering program expands.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in building maintenance, facilities operations, engineering, mechanical maintenance or related field.
• Strong general mechanical aptitude with ability to perform common repairs independently.
• Experience with HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems; troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled property inspections and preventive maintenance across multiple client properties.
• Carry out minor repairs and maintenance (plumbing, lighting, doors, fixtures, basic carpentry).
• Monitor building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life-safety) and identify abnormal conditions.
• Respond to emergency/unscheduled service calls and coordinate with management/vendors as needed.
• Maintain an organized service vehicle and inventory; document work orders and provide clear service notes.
• Interact with property managers and ownership representatives and communicate status and issues.
