Job summary

Sears Home Services is hiring an Appliance and Refrigeration Repair Technician to diagnose and repair a variety of home appliances at customer homes across the service area. The role emphasizes delivering an outstanding customer experience and practical, value-added solutions.

The position requires 1–2 years of appliance repair experience, EPA Type I or Universal certification, and the ability to travel up to 100% with a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• EPA Type I or EPA Universal certification.
• Mechanical knowledge and aptitude, including use of testing & repair tools.
• Experience repairing and diagnosing a variety of home appliances preferred.
• Can follow directions and processes for quality workmanship.
• Can use smartphone, including use for part ordering.
• Background and drug screen clearance required.
• Valid driver’s license for the state(s) you work in.
• Ability to travel up to 100%.
• Ability to work variable/flexible hours, including overtime.
• Ability to read, understand, and apply technical text to answer questions and complete tasks.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Physical ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 20 lbs frequently, 50 lbs often, 100 lbs occasionally.
• Ability to bend, kneel, twist, climb, crawl, and reach above shoulder.
• Ability to drive an automatic transmission vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Drive to multiple customers’ homes daily to diagnose and repair a variety of appliances (refrigerators, washers, dryers, dishwashers, microwaves).
• Deliver excellent customer experience that exceeds expectations.
• Provide customers with value-added solutions to improve their home.
• Keep company truck well-maintained and organized; manage parts efficiently.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
