The UW Medicine - Department of Laboratory Medicine & Pathology in Seattle, WA has an opportunity for a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) Trainee/1 with the DIDD Team at the Renton Central Lab. MLS professionals perform diagnostic tests and interpret results, working with cutting-edge instruments and evolving methodologies in a dynamic, supportive environment.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science or equivalent, and eligibility for ASCP certification within 18

Qualificações

• Accredited bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science OR equivalent education/experience.
• Eligible to take ASCP certification within 18 months from date of hire.

Responsabilidades

• Perform clinical virology diagnostic laboratory tests and interpret results.
• Assist in developing, following procedures and troubleshooting laboratory processes.
• Calibrate, operate, troubleshoot and maintain laboratory instruments.
• Ensure quality control requirements are met and record quality data.
• Proficiency in Word and Excel; use laboratory information systems and middleware.
• Assist in training new staff and act as a resource to colleagues.
• Contribute to design, development and evaluation of new procedures.
