Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) at Anderson Hospital. The MLS will perform routine analytical tests on blood specimens and deliver quality results to physicians while upholding patient safety and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Clinical Laboratory Science (or related field) from a CLIA-approved program.
• MLS Certification or eligible by a recognized certifying body (preferably ASCP).
• Externship program completed (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Performs analytical tests on biological specimens in a timely, accurate manner according to procedures.
• Ensures specimen acceptability and recognizes abnormal results.
• Performs quality control and maintains equipment safety and cleanliness.
• Maintains patient safety, handles data securely and ensures accurate reporting.
• Adheres to all lab policies and performs other duties as assigned.
