Job summary

Cranswick plc is seeking a Mixing Operative on B Shift (Days) in our busy kitchen environment. You will work 6am–6pm on a 4 on, 4 off rota, supporting the Prep Area by loading cookers, monitoring temperatures, and following product specs.

Qualifications

• Experience in a busy kitchen, ideally in a factory.
• Good standard of English (oral and written).
• Food Hygiene certificate and understanding of health & safety.
• Experience in food production is an advantage.
• Self-motivated, reliable with good timekeeping.
• Basic numeric and literacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow product specifications and report anomalies.
• Load/unload cookers, blast chillers, and monitor temperatures.
• Set cooker programmes and delay timers.
• Manage products through manufacturing to meet standards.
• Work to daily production and cooking plans and flag shortfalls.
• Operate equipment with training provided.
• Maintain cooking and cooling records.
• Maintain hygiene to prevent cross-contamination.
• Complete paperwork accurately within deadlines.

Mixing Operative | B Shift | Days | 4 on, 4 off

An opportunity has arisen for someone to join our kitchen team in our Prep Area, working on day shift (6am-6pm). This is an opportunity for someone who would like to have variety in their role and cook, as a mixing operative in our busy kitchens! This role would suit someone who has food manufacturing experience, enjoys cooking and who would now like to transition into the kitchen.

Main duties include (but not limited to):

• Under the guidance of the Area Manager, ensure that each product specification is followed, and any anomalies are reported immediately
• Loading and unloading cookers, blast chillers and holding chillers whilst monitoring & documenting product temperatures
• Setting of cooker programmes and delay timers
• Manage products through the manufacturing process in accordance with agreed technical, hygiene & quality standards
• Work efficiently to achieve daily production & cooking plan and communicate any shortfalls or problems in a timely manner
• Operate tools, machines & equipment, for which training will be provided so you can assist in the food manufacturing process
• Maintain full and accurate cooking and cooling records within agreed timescales
• Maintain best hygiene practices when loading and unloading products in order to prevent cross contamination from occurring
• Complete all paperwork as instructed accurately and within specific time frames

Candidate requirements:

• Experience of working in a busy kitchen, ideally within a factory
