Zusammenfassung

AeroVironment seeks a Manager, Mission Systems Software to lead a large, multi-site team delivering onboard mission systems software for uncrewed aircraft. You will partner with the Software Chief Engineer on technical direction, budget, and program commitments to meet aggressive growth and program milestones.

You will guide hiring, coaching, and development of engineers across vision-based navigation, autonomy, and flight software, while driving Agile practices and cross-functional alignment

Qualifikationen

• BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related is required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• 12+ years of software engineering experience with embedded, robotics, or mission systems software development.
• At least 4+ years in a management or technical lead role leading a software team of 15+ engineers.
• Experience delivering flight-critical or mission-critical software through a full development lifecycle.
• Experience with modern development and CI/CD tooling (Git/GitLab, CI pipelines, containerization) and Linux environments.
• Ability to work across software, systems, GNC, and program teams to meet milestones.

Aufgaben

• Manages a large, multi-site group of software engineers including budget planning, staffing, training, performance evaluation and career development.
• Drives hiring, onboarding, and development of engineers to keep pace with program demand.
• Shapes the mission systems software roadmap and priorities with senior leaders.
• Plans and directs software development projects across multiple programs.
• Works in an Agile environment coordinating scope, scheduling and resources.
• Champions software quality through design reviews and testing.
• Guides reuse of common software to reduce sustainment burden.
• Coordinates with systems engineering, GNC, hardware, test, and program teams.
• Interacts with senior management and other supervisors to align budgets and schedules.
• Other duties as assigned.
