Job summary

Muon Space, Inc. seeks a Staff Mission Lead Systems Engineer to drive mission concepts, architectures, and requirements for high-reliability space missions. You will partner with cross-functional teams and interfacing with customers to shape technical baselines from study through implementation.

The role requires extensive systems engineering, leadership in complex designs, and collaboration across hardware, software, and operations. TS/SCI clearance is expected.

Qualifications

• Direct engineering experience with EO/IR and/or RF payloads, link budgets, and architecture trades.
• Engineering degree (B.S. or higher) with 8+ years in complex system design for government/commercial customers.
• Demonstrated technical lead experience on complex systems for USG/DoD/IC or commercial clients.
• Experience with USG/IC acquisition programs and mission assurance standards.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Mission Architecture during study efforts to develop mission concepts and baselines.
• Develop and maintain mission-level system models, interfaces, and behavior models from study to implementation.
• Serve as the ultimate technical authority for a designated mission across design and development.
• Lead tailoring of Muon mission design processes to meet program needs.
• Translate customer objectives into clear, verifiable technical requirements.
