Job summary

Prescient Edge in McLean, VA is seeking a Laboratory Operations Specialist to provide versatile support across lab activities, logistics and technical computing applications to maintain an efficient, safe, and productive environment. The LOS uses Technical Data Packages to evaluate hardware and software supply elements and assists the CIO, Lab Manager, and team on mission system development and deployment.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field or 5+ years in a technical, scientific, or ILS related field.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Pro tools (Excel, PPT, Word).
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
• Hands-on aptitude for working in a lab, workshop, or technical environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze software & hardware architectures, TDPs, designs and requirements for various systems and apply in a Mission Lab Environment.
• Receive, track, and organize lab supplies, equipment, and materials.
• Evaluate and document life cycle of hardware and software components including DMSMS.
• Draft reports and white papers on DMSMS, obsolescence, reliability and cyber status.
• Support installation, configuration and testing of hardware and software across configurations.
• Develop training material and conduct training.
• Develop plans and conduct component and system tests and lab tests.
• Assist in data entry, documentation and reporting in lab management tools.
• Operate and maintain software applications to ensure testability of mission equipment.
• Complete physical inventory, data entry, and maintain records to ensure contractual compliance.
• Coordinate with team members to meet operational lab needs including visits, demonstrations and events.
• Ensure compliance with lab safety protocols and cleanliness standards.
• Be prepared for frequent travel to meet government requirements.
• Be receptive to guidance from Designers, Senior Leaders & CIO.
