Job summary

Knox Area Rescue Ministries seeks a Kitchen Team Member (Cook) to support daily high-volume meal prep and cooking on the Main Campus in Knoxville, TN. You will work 30–40 hours, typically between 5am and 7pm, with occasional weekend rotations and some travel between facilities.

Responsibilities include preparing meals, minimizing waste, ensuring food quality and safety, and keeping a clean workspace following health guidelines. Prior kitchen experience and ServSafe certification are valued.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years’ kitchen experience; volume production experience preferred.
• Current ServSafe certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day meal prep and cooking for breakfast, lunch, and dinner or any combination of them.
• Using Gift in Kind to minimize waste.
• Monitor food quality, temperature, taste, and portion size.
• Assist in maintaining a clean workspace and follow Knox County health department guidelines.
