Job summary

The Salvation Army of Memphis & the Mid-South in Knoxville, TN seeks a Cook to plan, prepare and serve nutritious meals for large groups, ensure safety and cleanliness, and supervise volunteers in the kitchen and dining areas.

Three years’ experience cooking for large groups and Safe Food Certification are preferred; you will work with the Kitchen Manager to maintain inventory, oversee food quality, and ensure meals are ready on schedule.

Qualifications

• Three years’ experience cooking food for large groups; coordinating work of kitchen staff preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow Site and Food Service Accreditation Standards.
• Prepare and cook food according to menu and schedule.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas; monitor equipment and supplies.
• Supervise volunteers and instruct Kitchen Assistant; ensure meals meet planned quantities and safety standards.

Education

Three years’ experience cooking for large groups and coordinating kitchen staff (preferred)
