Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Central Territory seeks a Corps Accountant to perform full charge bookkeeping for multiple centers, analyzing financial information and preparing reports. Responsibilities include revenue processing, accounts payable, journal entries, month-end closings, bank reconciliations, and audit coordination.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training and experience in accounting.
• 1–2 years related accounting experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform full charge bookkeeping for several centers, including revenue, accounts payable and contributions.
• Prepare journal entries for cash accounts, payroll, and subsidiary ledgers as required.
• Perform monthly closings and submit reports to the Corps Accounting Manager for review.
• Conduct monthly bank reconciliations and adjust as necessary.
• Analyze ledgers and prepare management reports with budget variances and trends.
• Coordinate audit schedules and assist with audit preparation.
• Support budget preparation and enter budget information into the accounting system.
