Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Corps Accountant to perform full charge bookkeeping for several centers within the Corps Accounting center. You will apply accounting principles to analyze financial information and prepare reports for leadership.

You will handle revenue processing, accounts payable, journal entries, monthly closings, bank reconciliations and budgeting support, coordinating with Corps Officers and Finance Directors as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• 1–2 years related accounting experience.
• Maintain strict confidentiality in handling financial information.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, TEAMS and SharePoint preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform full charge bookkeeping for several Corps centers.
• Prepare journal entries for cash, payroll, reserve and subsidiary ledgers.
• Execute monthly closings and produce reports for review by management.
• Carry out bank reconciliations and analyze ledgers and budget variances.
• Coordinate audit schedules and assist with audits.
