Job summary

America’s Thrift is seeking a Person in Charge to lead the store team, drive revenue, and uphold mission-driven operations. You will mentor ASMs and staff, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

The role emphasizes hiring, training, and developing personnel, while maintaining strong customer relations and efficient workflows across store operations in a dynamic retail environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of management experience in retail, production, logistics, or processing environments, or 2 years in thrift store management.
• Strong financial acumen with budgeting, financial reporting, and profit-and-loss management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer skills including spreadsheets and POS systems.
• Ability to develop, implement, and maintain SOPs.
• Leadership, coaching, and decision-making skills.
• Experience in hiring, training, and developing staff.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with employees, customers, and vendors with tact.

Responsibilities

• Lead ASMs and supervisors to ensure effective team leadership.
• Hire, interview, and develop employees for advancement.
• Foster trust, employee development, and engagement.
• Drive training, succession planning, and team growth.
• Monitor compliance with policies and conduct coaching or disciplinary actions.
• Partner with AP and PCBP to investigate incidents and take action.
• Utilize reports to optimize store layout and maximize sales.
• Assign daily operations to staff and ensure smooth functioning.
• Manage cash handling, deposits, and financial accuracy.
• Oversee onboarding, orientation, and documentation accuracy.
• Maintain and exceed operational, financial, and customer service goals.
• Create a positive environment for employees, donors, customers, and partners.
• Manage inventory and donation flow in compliance with safety regulations.
• Uphold merchandising standards and store presentation.
• Ensure safety procedures and secure work environment.
• Adhere to company policies and values.
