Job summary

UCP Long Island is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager for a fully in-person role to oversee all purchasing activities across Residential, Admin, Adult Day Services and Education. Responsibilities include developing procedures, managing suppliers, bidding, reviewing POs and supporting the annual budget.

Requires a BA/BS or 3–5 years related experience; UCP offers generous PTO, benefits, and retirement plans in a nonprofit setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) or 3–5 years related experience and/or training.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Develops procedures and policies for purchasing and office services.
• Evaluates changes to manage costs and improve efficiency.
• Manages suppliers to secure best pricing for products and services.
• Directs staff through coaching, training and performance management.
• Reviews and approves POs; handles PO processing and accuracy.
• Assists with budgeting, variance analysis and corrective actions.
• Maintains contracts and coordinates with site/program designees.
