Job Summary
Key Responsibilities
  • Procure goods and services required to meet production and operational demands.
  • Evaluate suppliers based on quality, price, reliability, technical support, and availability.
  • Develop and implement effective purchasing strategies to optimize procurement processes and reduce total cost of ownership.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and payment terms with suppliers to secure favorable conditions.
  • Collaborate closely with inventory control to forecast supply needs, manage inventory levels, and avoid stockouts or overstock.
  • Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies, food-safety standards, and applicable regulations.
  • Analyze spend data, market trends, and supplier performance to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the position to support business needs.
Job Requirements
  • Proficiency with procurement software and related tools.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills to secure favorable terms with suppliers.
  • Ability to plan and manage the supply chain with a strategic, cost-conscious mindset.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent hands-on experience may be considered.
  • 5+ years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably within food manufacturing or a regulated consumer-goods environment.
  • Financial acumen and understanding of total cost of ownership (TCO).
  • Experience using procurement analytics and data to drive savings and process improvements.
  • Primarily office-based at the Islip, NY facility.
  • Occasional travel may be required to visit suppliers, attend industry events, or support production sites.
