Job summary

The USO, based in Arlington, VA, is seeking a Director of Compensation, Benefits & HRIS to lead Total Rewards strategy and HRIS initiatives. This in-person role requires guiding compensation programs, benefits design, and data management to support a global, mission-driven nonprofit.

Ideal candidate has extensive experience in compensation and benefits, with leadership capabilities, strong collaboration skills, and the ability to work with external providers and senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.
• 10+ years in compensation, benefits and HR systems; 5+ years in supervision.
• Experience in nonprofit, military, multicultural and/or global organization preferred.
• Knowledge of global pay and benefits; familiarity with international offices preferred.
• Ability to lead teams and communicate with leadership and the public.
• MS Office and HR systems familiarity; UltiPro, ClearCompany and/or SkillSoft preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee compensation programs, pay grades, and salary data.
• Lead health, welfare and retirement benefits strategies.
• Develop HRIS and data management improvements.
• Design communication strategies for compensation and benefits.
• Manage relationships with external providers.
• Ensure internal equity and participate in salary surveys.
