Job summary

The USO, based in Arlington, VA, seeks a senior leader to oversee compensation, benefits and HRIS programs. This in-person role demands strategic vision, regulatory acumen, and experience guiding teams to align total rewards with mission goals.

You will manage salary structures, benefits programs, and data systems, while mentoring staff and collaborating across functions to support a nonprofit serving military families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Business Admin or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 10+ years in Compensation, Benefits and HR systems; 5+ years in supervision.
• Experience in non-profit, military, multicultural or global org preferred.
• Ability to lead teams and work cross-functionally.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and maintain compensation programs, including pay grades and salary data; administer merit increases and participate in salary surveys.
• Lead benefits strategies including health, welfare and retirement programs; ensure regulatory filing requirements.
• Collaborate on HRIS needs and data management; align with best practices.
• Lead communication strategies for compensation, benefits and HR systems; manage external provider relationships.
