Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Data Center Engineering Technician in Boardman, Oregon. The role focuses on hands-on electrical and mechanical maintenance to ensure ultra-high uptime across mission-critical facilities, including generators, switchgear, UPS, PDUs, and cooling systems.

You will work with a diverse team across AWS data centers, support changes, and potentially rotate on-call schedules while complying with safety standards and site procedures.

Qualifications

• 1+ years electrical or mechanical, or data center experience.
• High school or equivalent diploma.
• 1+ years of Microsoft Office products experience.
• Ability to work flexible schedule including days, nights, and/or weekends.

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment for 24/7 reliability.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal SLA.
• Perform rack installs and rack decommissioning within internal SLA.
• PM, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Technical writing to support change management program.
• Monitor daily work requests and manage to resolution, and execute projects from conception to completion.
• On-site support of contractors, sub-contractors and vendors, ensuring that all work is in accordance with established practices, procedures & local legislation.
