Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Engineering Technician to maintain mission-critical electrical and mechanical systems across AWS data centers. The role focuses on ensuring 99.999% uptime and hands-on troubleshooting of critical infrastructure.

The technician will work with diverse teams, support change management, and travel to multiple data center sites as required, with shifts that may be up to 12 hours and on-call rotations in some locations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of electrical and mechanical work experience.
• Willingness to travel between data center sites as needed.
• Flexibility to work days, nights, and weekends as required.
• Ability to bend, twist, climb, and work at heights when servicing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within SLAs.
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning within internal SLA.
• PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Prepare technical documentation to support change management.
