Job summary

JLL seeks a Critical Environment Manager in New York, onsite at Hudson Yards. You will lead the on-site critical environment engineering team, ensure 24/7/365 uptime, and coordinate with clients to deliver reliable data-center facilities services.

Responsibilities include managing UPS, generators, precision cooling, building automation, and change control processes. Travel up to 25% may be required; a technical degree and senior leadership experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in critical environment engineering, data center operations, or mission-critical facilities management.
• 5+ years of supervisory experience managing critical environment engineering teams in a 24/7/365 setting.
• Hands-on experience in Tier III/IV mission-critical facility environments, with data center operations experience preferred.
• Knowledge of critical building systems including UPS, emergency power, N+1/2N, precision HVAC, electrical distribution, and fire suppression.
• Proficiency with CMMS (Corrigo) and change management platforms like ServiceNow; MS Office.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 25%

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and operational direction to the on-site critical environment engineering team, ensuring 24/7/365 uptime.
• Serve as the on-site point of contact for clients regarding engineering services and technical solutions.
• Manage and optimize day-to-day critical facility operations, including UPS, generators, cooling, and building automation.
• Oversee preventative and predictive maintenance, including scheduling, testing, and vendor services.
• Lead change control processes, prepare MOPs and risk assessments in ServiceNow.
• Direct response to technical emergencies and incidents; conduct root cause analysis.
• Monitor uptime, PUE, and maintenance metrics using CMMS and DCIM platforms to drive decisions.
