Job summary

HITT Contracting is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support mission-critical government projects in Columbus, OH. You will assist in planning, scheduling, and directing building activities to meet budget, quality, time, and safety goals, while maintaining daily site records and coordinating with subcontractors.

The role requires a high school diploma and a preferred four-year degree related to construction or engineering, plus 2–5 years of commercial construction experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; a four-year degree in construction, engineering, or business is strongly preferred.
• 2-5 years’ experience in commercial construction, including experience with a commercial general contractor.
• Tenant renovations, service work, work in occupied spaces, weekend work, fast paced project experience all a plus.
• Project lead experience a plus.
• Ability to master sector/project-specific software systems including Microsoft Office suite (Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), ProCore, Adobe, BlueBeam.
• OSHA 30 Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support managing work flow consistent with the project schedule and communicate priorities to field staff and subcontractors.
• Maintain daily log/report of all activities and site conditions; manage punch list and closeout through owner/architect acceptance.
• Assist in planning, organizing, directing, and controlling building aspects to meet budget, quality, time and safety objectives.
• Maintain quality standards and good relationships with subcontractors; ensure safety compliance and timely reporting.
