Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to design, implement, and operate secure cloud environments supporting U.S. government missions. The role emphasizes protecting data in AWS GovCloud, Azure, and hybrid/multi-cloud setups while aligning with NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, RMF, and DoD IL-4/IL-5 requirements.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen required.
• Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of related cloud security experience.
• 5–9+ years in cloud security with hands-on AWS GovCloud, Azure, GCP or multi-cloud.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and collaboration skills in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure cloud architectures across AWS GovCloud, Azure, and/or GCP.
• Maintain compliance with NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, RMF, and DoD IL requirements.
• Configure IAM/RBAC, JIT access, Key Vaults, and Zero Trust across clouds.
• Deploy security tools (Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, CSPM) for threat detection and response.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments, RoS, and SOX? Wait this field is for DoD; perform risk-based reviews.
• Develop SSPs, SARs, POA&Ms, and risk/compliance reporting for cloud ops.
