Job summary

Apex seeks a Cloud Security Engineer to design, implement, maintain, and optimize secure cloud environments supporting U.S. government missions. This role focuses on securing AWS GovCloud, Azure, and multi‑cloud setups while ensuring compliance with NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, RMF, and DoD IL‑4/IL‑5.

You will work with IAM/RBAC, encryption, and Zero Trust, aligning with SOC2, ISO 27001, and other standards. On‑site presence in Playa Vista, CA is required.

Qualifications

• 5–9+ years in cloud security engineering, hands‑on in multi‑cloud environments
• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, CS, or related field (or 5+ years)
• Experience with compliance frameworks: NIST, FedRAMP, RMF, and related tools

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure cloud architectures across AWS GovCloud, Azure, and GCP
• Maintain ongoing compliance with NIST 800-53 Rev. 5, FedRAMP, RMF, DoD IL‑4/IL‑5
• Manage IAM/RBAC, encryption, network security, and cloud‑native security services
• Develop and maintain SSP, SAR, POA&M, and risk/compliance reporting
• Coordinate with DevSecOps to integrate security into CI/CD pipelines
