Job summary

Credence is seeking a Security Engineer / Network Engineer to secure a mission-critical AWS GovCloud environment within a DoD-aligned ecosystem. You will implement, maintain, and enhance security controls across cloud and network infrastructure to ensure compliance with federal cybersecurity standards while supporting operational resilience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Active DoD Secret or Top-Secret clearance.
• 5+ years of hands-on cybersecurity, network engineering, or cloud security experience.
• Experience with AWS GovCloud (preferred).
• Strong network security knowledge (firewalls, WAFs) and SIEM familiarity.
• Working knowledge of NIST 800-53, RMF, and STIGs.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain security controls across AWS GovCloud infrastructure and hybrid environments.
• Support security operations including monitoring, detection, and response activities.
• Configure and manage network security solutions including firewalls and WAFs.
• Integrate and support SIEM solutions for centralized logging and threat detection.
• Perform vulnerability management including scanning and remediation tracking.
• Ensure compliance with DoD requirements (STIGs, RMF, NIST).
• Support incident response efforts including triage and containment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance security posture.
• Support continuous monitoring and audit readiness.
