Job summary

Apex Technology, Inc. is hiring a Cloud Security Engineer to design, implement, and operate secure cloud environments for U.S. government missions. This role covers AWS GovCloud, Azure, and hybrid/multi-cloud setups with emphasis on compliance like NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, RMF, and DoD IL-4/IL-5.

The ideal candidate has hands-on cloud security experience in regulated settings, plus knowledge of SIEM, CI/CD security, and automation tooling to safeguard data and systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in cloud security engineering or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience with multi-cloud environments (AWS GovCloud, Azure, Google GCP).
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks (NIST, FedRAMP, RMF) and security controls.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure cloud architectures across AWS GovCloud, Azure, and Google Cloud.
• Maintain compliance with NIST SP 800-53 Rev. 5, FedRAMP, DoD IL-2/4/5, RMF, SCCA.
• Configure IAM/RBAC, JIT access, Key Vaults, and Zero Trust across clouds.
• Deploy and optimize cloud-native security tools (Defender, Sentinel, CSPM/CWPP, SIEM).
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing; review configurations against STIGs/CIS/NIST.
