Job summary

Kiewit Mining District in the United States is seeking a Safety Intern to learn hands-on how we keep people safe on projects across North America. You’ll join a team implementing our Project Safety Program, help monitor site conditions, and support safety audits and training, with potential relocation for assignments.

As an intern you’ll gain exposure to regulations, policies, and metrics while contributing to the safety culture and daily operations of our projects.

Qualifications

Pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
Knowledge of construction safety, OSHA requirements.
Experience with Word and Excel.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Assist in implementing and overseeing the Project Safety Program and site safety policies.
Monitor construction project activities for compliance with regulations and company policies.
Provide corrective action recommendations and help track performance metrics.
Review work plans for safety conformance and assist in audits, coaching, and onsite training.
Travel and relocate as required for projects.
