Job summary

MSHA standards and strong communication are essential. The position requires 3–5 years of related supervisory experience, MSHA familiarity, and the ability to work rotating shifts in an active mining environment.

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience or training in supervision is required.
• MSHA certification a plus.
• Minimum 3–5 years of related experience is necessary for this position.
• A college degree may substitute for up to 3 years of experience.
• Vocational technical training and/or 3–5 years of surface mining experience may be required depending on supervision area.

Responsibilities

• Supervises daily activities of heavy equipment operators and maintenance personnel to support production.
• Plans and schedules production and/or maintenance work using personnel, materials, and equipment.
• Coordinates safety activities to ensure MSHA safety standards are met and environmental standards are followed.
• Ensures safe and efficient work environment and adherence to safety practices.
• Performs administrative duties such as time records, performance assessments, and attendance counseling.
• Coordinates work with other departments and shifts to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
• Maintains productivity records for schedules, costs, and equipment availability.
• Complies with MSHA laws, company safety procedures, and environmental regulations.
