Job summary

Applied Intuition is seeking a perception engineer on the Mining Autonomy team to own perception outcomes for autonomous mining vehicles across active sites in multiple regions. You will select sensor sets, adapt models to new domains, diagnose underperformance, and decide when to fix it yourself or route to the core team.

You will collaborate daily with the core autonomy platform team, customer engineering, and BD, helping stand up new product lines while developing existing ones.

Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing real-world model failures in deployed systems.
• Ability to translate customer requirements into technical specs.
• Familiarity with PyTorch, ONNX, TensorRT, Docker, Python and C++.
• Strong systems-level understanding of perception and related domains.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement perception systems to enable new product capabilities.
• Design the data strategy for a new deployment, including labeling plans.
• Make build-vs-reuse tradeoffs when standing up new product lines.
• Triage model and system issues in the field and coordinate fixes upstream.
