Job summary

Applied Intuition is seeking a Perception Engineer on the Mining Autonomy team to own perception outcomes across active customer sites in multiple regions. You will select sensor sets, adapt models to new domains, diagnose underperformance, and decide when to fix in-house or route upstream.

Qualifications

• Strong systems-level understanding of perception and related domains to reason about full stack.
• Product-owner mindset focused on customer success and ownership.
• Experience diagnosing real-world model failures in deployed systems and driving them to resolution.
• Comfort working with ambiguous, evolving customer requirements and translating them into specs.
• Familiarity with PyTorch, ONNX, TensorRT, Docker, Python, and C++.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement perception systems to enable new product capabilities using existing model heads and solving new perception tasks.
• Design data strategies for deployments: what to collect, how much, and how to label for production readiness.
• Make build-vs-reuse tradeoffs when standing up new product lines and define KPIs and collaboration points.
• Triage model and system issues in the field and decide whether to resolve them directly or escalate upstream.
