Job summary

Loenbro is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to run defined portions of projects on site under the Project Manager's oversight. This role carries ownership of delegated scope, including cost, subcontracts, procurement, and documentation, with authority limited to the delegated scope and written at project kickoff.

The position emphasizes developing Project Managers through accountability, with no contract, schedule, or change authority beyond the defined scope.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Own delegated scope cost, progress and documentation as assigned.
• Report on delegated scope at weekly project meetings.
• Escalate items outside delegated scope to the Project Manager.
• Maintain cost coding, quantity roll-up and earned-value reporting.
• Prepare monthly cost forecast and estimate at completion.
• Prepare monthly accrual and progress billing backup.
• Review/approve timecards, invoices and subcontracts within scope.
• Flag cost trends and budget exposure early.
• Identify changes and assemble pricing and backup for review.
• Draft change orders and log changes; participate in client negotiations when led by PM.
• Issue POs and administer subcontracts within threshold; manage vendor docs and pay apps.
• Own long-lead item tracking and delivery risk for delegated scope.
• Maintain schedule updates for delegated scope; support recovery planning.
• Direct assigned Project Engineers; interface with client staff within scope.
• Support the Superintendent's execution and permit compliance verification.
• Assist with training and incident investigations for delegated scope.
• Approve timecards and pay apps; no authority outside contracted scope.
• Keep the Project Manager informed of changes and risks.
