Job summary

WSP is seeking a geotechnical engineer to lead civil design of mine waste containment and heap leach facilities in Nevada. You will oversee layout, site selection, and generate design drawings and specifications for construction.

The role involves managing geotechnical projects, field investigations, lab work, and complex analyses, while guiding multi-disciplinary teams and contributing to proposals. Candidates should have strong project management skills and be able to deliver quality reports

Responsibilities

Lead civil design of mine waste containment and heap leach facilities, including layout and site selection.
Conduct geotechnical and hydrologic analyses and prepare design drawings and specifications.
Manage mine waste geotechnical projects, including field investigations, lab testing, data interpretation, and analyses.
Scope, direct, and review complex geotechnical analyses: stability, seepage, thermal modeling, deposition/runout for mine waste or water embankment dams.
Independently manage projects per client scopes and deliver high-quality reports on time and within budget.
Provide or contribute to client relationships and business development activities.
Work with and lead multi-disciplinary project teams.
Support technical proposals and design work packages.
Manage the work of junior engineers.
Remain current in latest geotechnical practices.
