Job summary

Lhoist North America is seeking a Mine Engineer to lead mapping, surveying, and short- to mid-term mine planning efforts. You will coordinate with the mine supervisor and team to ensure accurate geologic data, develop 14-day dig maps, and supervise interns and technicians in a safety-focused environment.

Responsibilities include ground support monitoring, QA data collection, and collaboration with geology and quality teams to align kiln feed with plan.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in geology, mining, or related engineering/technical degree.
• BS/MS in Mining Engineering or Geology preferred.
• Experience with CAD and GPS surveying is required or highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Lead mapping and surveying, coordinate survey control and alignment checks.
• Develop and update mine plans and 14-day dig maps.
• Provide technical support for mine infrastructure and dewatering.
• Ensure MSHA compliance in infrastructure and operations.
• Supervise interns, technicians, and contractors.
