Job summary

Heidelberg Materials is seeking an experienced Mine Planner to develop long-term mine plans, create geological models, and ensure plans meet safety and regulatory requirements. The role involves collaboration with geologists, engineers, and project managers across sites and offices.

You will use Carlson/AutoCAD/ArcGIS/Surpac and Excel to analyze volumes, costs, and schedules, while supporting capital projects and compliance initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or related field with 3+ years mine planning experience.
• Experience in mine or plant operations and applying planning concepts to real-world ops.
• PE registration or ability to obtain within two years.
• Proficiency with Carlson/AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Surpac and Excel for calculations and visualization.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of mining regulations and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop short-, medium-, and long-term mine plans, including pit shell designs and reclamation plans.
• Prepare geological models and perform resource and reserve estimations.
• Develop life-of-mine plans with phased development schedules and cost inputs.
• Provide design parameters and volume calculations to support capital projects.
• Collaborate with regional management, geologists, project managers, and engineers to evaluate mineral quantity and quality.
• Ensure mine plans align with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and company objectives.
