Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Inc. in Morenci, AZ is seeking an Asst Technical Instructor/Facilitator for Mine Operations. You will deliver hands-on safety, compliance, and operations training to create a skilled, compliant workforce.

The role combines classroom and field instruction, with assessments and LMS records. You’ll mentor instructors, collaborate with supervisors, and help develop competency-based training materials to support production and safety goals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Technical competence equivalent to an experienced operator or mechanical tradesperson/journeyman.
• Five years of directly related work experience leading teams or facilitating training.
• Proven computer literacy including MS Office and Windows.
• Experience in adult education or corporate training preferred.
• Experience in mining, manufacturing, or industrial environments preferred.
• Familiarity with MSHA or OSHA safety standards preferred.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred.
• Experience mentoring or coaching in field environments preferred.
• Familiarity with competency-based training models preferred.
• MSHA Blue Card Certified preferred

Responsibilities

• Develop employees' skills in safety, compliance, and operational tasks.
• Deliver hands-on training and simulations; proctor standardized assessments.
• Collaborate with supervisors to address skill gaps and elevate concerns when needed.
• Facilitate interactive classroom and computer-based training sessions.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance and assessment results in the LMS.
• Participate in train-the-trainer programs and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Provide input for developing competency-based learning materials and mentor instructors.
