Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with 5 years of related operational experience including supervisory experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a technical mining related discipline with internship or supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of supervisory methods and techniques.
• Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, coordinates and controls the safe and efficient operation of an assigned work unit.
• Assigns, supervises, and reviews the work of staff for the unit.
• Implements production plans according to schedule.
• Inspects and evaluates work in progress and directs remedial action.
• Conducts performance evaluations on subordinate staff.
• Prepares estimates of staffing, materials, and equipment requirements.
• Maintains inventory and approves purchases; manages reports.
• Trains staff in safety procedures and maintains safety data sheets.
• Performs other duties as required.
