Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Inc. seeks a Supervisor Mine Operations in Bagdad, AZ to oversee safe, efficient operation of a mine work unit. You’ll supervise staff, implement production plans and review performance while ensuring safety procedures are followed.

Ideal candidates bring a high school diploma or GED with supervisory experience or a technical mining degree with internship exposure. Relocation and housing support are available in a small-town setting with strong community amenities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with five years of related operational experience including supervisory/lead experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a technical mining related discipline with at least one summer internship (or equivalent) with supervisory experience.
• Certifications or licensure may be required for the job.
• Knowledge of supervisory methods and techniques.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, coordinate and control the safe operation of the assigned work unit.
• Assign and review staff work for the unit.
• Implement production plans according to schedule.
• Participate in daily operational duties as needed.
• Inspect and evaluate work, direct remedial actions as necessary.
• Conduct performance evaluations of subordinate staff.
• Prepare staffing, materials and equipment estimates for activities.
• Maintain inventory and approve purchases; manage time, materials and equipment use.
• Train staff in safety procedures and maintain safety data sheets.
