Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with 5 years of related operational and supervisory experience.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical mining discipline with at least one internship in a mining/industrial environment.
• Additional certifications or licensure may be required.
• Knowledge of supervisory methods and techniques.
• Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.

Responsibilities

• Assign, supervise, and review the work of staff for assigned work unit.
• Implement production plans according to approved schedule.
• May participate in the full range of daily operational duties and perform the most difficult tasks.
• Inspect and evaluate work in progress, identify problems, and direct remedial action.
• Conduct performance evaluations on subordinate staff.
• Prepare estimates of staffing, materials, and equipment for projected work activities.
• Maintain an inventory of parts and materials.
• Approve purchases of materials and equipment; maintain use reports.
• Request tools, supplies, materials, and equipment.
• Train staff in safety procedures.
• Maintain safety data sheets for crews.
• Perform other duties as required.
