Placements24 is seeking a Director of Operations for a major mining services client in Upington, Northern Cape. You will lead diverse operational functions, drive safety, efficiency, quality and profitability, and shape service delivery across logistics, equipment and field operations.

This role requires 10+ years in operations with mining or heavy industry, strong leadership, budget oversight, and a strategic vision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in operations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within mining services or heavy industrial sector.
• Proven track record of managing complex operations and diverse teams in challenging environments.
• Strong understanding of mining operations, safety regulations, and operational best practices.
• Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience in budget management and financial oversight.
• Proficiency in relevant operational software and ERP systems.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the region and reside in or near Upington, Northern Cape.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic operational plans to meet company objectives and client demands.
