Job summary

SSR Mining Inc. is seeking a Heavy Duty Mechanic for the Marigold mine in Nevada. The role includes maintaining and repairing hauling and support equipment on a rotating 5/4 days/nights schedule, using planned maintenance and troubleshooting to keep operations safe and productive.

You will interpret schematics, manage parts, and collaborate with operations to maximize equipment availability while following safety policies and SOPs. A valid driver’s license and personal tools are required.

Qualifications

• Must communicate effectively in English for business use.
• Excellent organizational and problem solving skills.
• Observe and follow SOPs and company policies.
• Strong safety knowledge for mine equipment maintenance.
• Operate diagnostic equipment and computerized instrumentation.
• Own and maintain personal tools.
• Strong experience with hydraulic and electrical heavy equipment is preferred.
• Understanding of failure and wear analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety practices in all maintenance work.
• Troubleshoot and repair heavy equipment using a work order system.
• Improve maintenance strategy to maximize equipment availability.
• Interpret schematics and maintenance manuals for repairs.
• Perform field housekeeping and ensure safe work areas.
• Assess hazards and conduct Field Level Risk Assessments.
• Estimate repair times and order correct parts.
• Ensure compliance with contamination control policies.
• Support environmental stewardship and report spills.
